Job Brief
As a Glass Artist, you will create original artwork through various glassworking techniques, including blowing, casting, and fusing. Responsibilities
- Design and create unique glass art pieces, including sculptures, functional items, and decorative objects.
- Utilize various glassworking techniques such as glassblowing, fusing, and casting to produce artistic works.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their vision and incorporate feedback into the design process.
- Maintain a safe and organized workspace while adhering to industry safety standards.
- Exhibit artwork in galleries, fairs, and shows to promote personal brand and artistic vision.
- Manage materials inventory and order supplies as needed for ongoing and future projects.
- Continuously explore and experiment with new techniques and materials to enhance artistic skills.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Glass Art, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience as a Glass Artist or similar role with a strong portfolio showcasing artistic abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of glass properties and various glassworking techniques.
- Familiarity with design software such as Adobe Illustrator or CAD is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and creative problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with clients and team members.
- Ability to lift heavy materials and operate specialized glassworking equipment safely.
