Job Brief
As a GIS Geographer, you will explore and analyze the interactions between physical and cultural phenomena on the Earth’s surface. Your primary responsibilities include conducting comprehensive research on physical aspects such as landforms, climates, and ecosystems, as well as assessing the spatial implications of human activities. Responsibilities
- Conduct research on physical geography, including landforms, climates, soils, flora, and fauna.
- Analyze spatial data using GIS software to assess the impact of human activities on the environment.
- Interpret and present findings related to the interaction of physical and cultural phenomena.
- Develop and maintain geographic databases and spatial analysis tools.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to address environmental and social challenges.
- Create detailed maps and visualizations to communicate research results effectively.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in GIS technology.
- Prepare reports and presentations for stakeholders and decision-makers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Environmental Science, or a related field; a Master’s degree is a plus.
- Proficiency in GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) and spatial analysis techniques.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
- Familiarity with remote sensing technologies and data collection methods.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience in research methodologies and report writing.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Knowledge of environmental policies and regulations is advantageous.
