Job Brief

As a Fuels Engineer, you will design and optimize chemical plant equipment and processes for the production of various fuels and chemical products, including gasoline, synthetic rubber, and plastics. This role requires a solid understanding of chemistry, physics, and engineering principles, along with hands-on experience in chemical manufacturing and process design. You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop innovative solutions that enhance efficiency, safety, and sustainability in fuel production.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop chemical processes and equipment for fuel production and related chemical products.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and process simulations to evaluate new technologies and methodologies.
  • Implement safety protocols and regulatory compliance measures in chemical manufacturing operations.
  • Analyze production data to identify areas for improvement and optimize production efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve process-related issues.
  • Prepare technical documentation, including design specifications, process flow diagrams, and operating procedures.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes affecting fuel production.
  • Participate in research and development projects to innovate fuel formulations and production techniques.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; Master’s preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in chemical process design or fuels engineering.
  • Proficient in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS) and computer-aided design (CAD) tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • In-depth knowledge of chemical engineering principles, thermodynamics, and reaction kinetics.
  • Familiarity with environmental regulations and safety standards in the chemical industry.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure is a plus.
