Job Brief
As a Bore Miner Operator, you will be responsible for operating self-propelled mining machines to efficiently extract coal, metal, and nonmetal ores, as well as rock, stone, or sand from the mine face. This role requires a skilled operator with a strong understanding of mining machinery and safety protocols, ensuring continuous operation while maximizing productivity. Previous experience in underground mining operations is essential, along with excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Operate bore mining machines to extract materials from the mine face effectively.
- Load extracted materials onto conveyors, shuttle cars, or trucks in a safe and efficient manner.
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of mining equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Monitor and adjust operational parameters for continuous mining operations.
- Adhere to safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe work environment.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to coordinate mining activities.
- Document operational data and report any issues or malfunctions to management.
- Participate in training programs to enhance skills and knowledge of mining techniques and equipment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in mining operations preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience operating bore mining machines in an underground environment.
- Valid operator’s license or certification for heavy machinery operation.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills for equipment maintenance.
- In-depth knowledge of safety practices and regulations in the mining industry.
- Ability to work in confined spaces and adapt to challenging underground conditions.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Willingness to work irregular hours and respond to emergencies as needed.
