Job Brief

The Forestry Aide plays a crucial role in the conservation and management of forests and natural resources. Responsibilities

  • Assist in the conservation of soil, water, and forest resources through fieldwork and data analysis.
  • Compile data on forest tract characteristics, including size, content, and ecological condition under the guidance of foresters.
  • Train and lead forest workers in proper forest propagation techniques and fire prevention strategies.
  • Support conservation scientists in the management, improvement, and protection of rangelands and wildlife habitats.
  • Conduct field surveys and maintain records related to forest health and sustainability.
  • Implement and monitor programs aimed at enhancing biodiversity and forest resilience.
  • Participate in community outreach and educational programs to promote forestry conservation efforts.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in forestry, environmental science, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience in fieldwork related to forestry, conservation, or natural resource management.
  • Knowledge of ecological principles and forestry practices, including fire management and soil conservation.
  • Strong analytical skills to compile and interpret data effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in various outdoor environments.
  • Excellent communication skills for training and collaboration with diverse groups.
  • Familiarity with GIS and data collection tools is a plus.
