Job Brief
The Forest Resources Professor is responsible for delivering high-quality education in forestry and conservation science. Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver engaging curricula for undergraduate and graduate courses in forestry and conservation science.
- Facilitate hands-on learning through fieldwork, laboratory experiments, and community-based projects.
- Mentor and advise students on academic and career development related to forest resources.
- Conduct research on sustainable forestry practices, forest ecology, and biodiversity conservation.
- Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at academic conferences.
- Collaborate with other faculty members and departments to enhance interdisciplinary education and research initiatives.
- Engage with local, national, and international communities to promote awareness of forestry issues and conservation efforts.
- Participate in departmental and university service activities, including curriculum development and accreditation processes.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Forestry, Environmental Science, or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated experience in teaching at the postsecondary level, preferably in forestry or conservation science.
- Strong research background with a record of published work in relevant academic journals.
- Proficiency in statistical analysis and data interpretation related to forest resources and ecology.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
