Job Brief
The Food Service Director is responsible for overseeing the planning, directing, and coordinating of food and beverage services within an organization. This leadership role requires a strong background in food service management, excellent organizational skills, and a deep understanding of nutrition, sanitation standards, and budgeting. Responsibilities
- Plan and implement food service programs that meet the nutritional needs of clients and comply with dietary guidelines.
- Manage daily operations of food preparation and service, ensuring high standards of food quality and safety.
- Oversee budgeting, purchasing, and inventory management to optimize food service costs while maintaining quality.
- Recruit, train, and supervise food service staff, promoting teamwork and professional development.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure the quality and timely delivery of food products.
- Monitor and evaluate service delivery, implementing improvements based on feedback and performance metrics.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to food safety and sanitation.
- Collaborate with other departments to promote events, catering, and special menus that enhance customer satisfaction.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Service Management, Hospitality, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience in food service management, preferably in a similar leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of nutrition, food safety, and sanitation regulations.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in budgeting, inventory management, and cost control.
- Certification in food safety and sanitation (e.g., ServSafe) is highly desirable.
- Ability to lead and motivate a diverse team in a fast-paced environment.
