Job Brief
As a Floor Cleaner, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of various facilities. Your primary duties will include performing heavy cleaning tasks such as scrubbing floors, shampooing carpets, washing walls and windows, and removing waste. The ideal candidate will have experience in custodial services and possess strong attention to detail, ensuring a hygienic and welcoming environment for all building occupants.
Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning of floors using appropriate equipment and techniques.
- Shampoo carpets and rugs to maintain cleanliness and appearance.
- Wash walls and glass surfaces to ensure a spotless environment.
- Remove rubbish and maintain waste disposal systems.
- Monitor and tend to furnace and boiler operations as required.
- Conduct routine maintenance activities and report any repair needs to management.
- Clear snow and debris from sidewalks and entrances to ensure safety.
- Follow safety protocols and use cleaning chemicals as directed.
Requirements
- Proven experience in floor cleaning or custodial services.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies.
- Familiarity with floor cleaning equipment, including buffers and vacuums.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness standards.
- Good time management skills and ability to work independently.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Valid driver’s license may be required for travel between locations.
