Job Brief
As a Firebrick Layer, you will be responsible for laying and binding various building materials, including firebricks, concrete blocks, and terra-cotta blocks, using mortar and other binding substances. Your expertise will contribute to the construction and repair of walls, partitions, arches, and other structures requiring high heat resistance. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience in masonry, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to read blueprints. Responsibilities
- Lay firebricks and other masonry materials accurately to construct or repair industrial and residential structures.
- Mix and apply mortar and other binding materials to ensure durable construction.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements.
- Measure and cut materials such as bricks and blocks to ensure precise fitting.
- Inspect completed work for quality and compliance with building codes and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with other construction professionals to ensure project timelines and objectives are met.
- Maintain tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations while working on construction sites.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Firebrick Layer or in a similar masonry role.
- Strong knowledge of masonry techniques and materials, particularly firebricks.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy materials and work in various weather conditions.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and regulations in construction environments.
- High school diploma or equivalent; certification in masonry is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
