Responsibilities

- Access sensitive databases and information sources to gather necessary details for emergency response.
- Provide guidance and instructions to callers based on established emergency protocols and procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of calls and communications for future reference and reporting.
- Stay informed about local emergency response resources and procedures to enhance operational effectiveness.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to remain knowledgeable about current practices in emergency dispatching.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in emergency response or dispatching preferred.
- Proven experience in emergency dispatching or a related field, with a focus on crisis management.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Familiarity with communication technologies, radio systems, and public safety protocols.
- Certification in emergency medical dispatch (EMD) or equivalent preferred.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic knowledge of local geography and emergency resources.
