Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with law enforcement and emergency response personnel to ensure prompt and effective action.
  • Access sensitive databases and information sources to gather necessary details for emergency response.
  • Provide guidance and instructions to callers based on established emergency protocols and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of calls and communications for future reference and reporting.
  • Stay informed about local emergency response resources and procedures to enhance operational effectiveness.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in emergency response or dispatching preferred.
  • Proven experience in emergency dispatching or a related field, with a focus on crisis management.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Familiarity with communication technologies, radio systems, and public safety protocols.
  • Certification in emergency medical dispatch (EMD) or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic knowledge of local geography and emergency resources.
  • Availability to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
