Job Brief
We are seeking a skilled Fiberglass Laminator to join our team, specializing in the layering of fiberglass materials on molds to produce high-quality components such as boat decks, hulls, and automotive bodies. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in fiberglass lamination processes, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work efficiently within a team environment. Strong knowledge of industry-standard techniques and safety protocols is essential.
Responsibilities
- Prepare molds and surfaces for fiberglass lamination by cleaning and applying release agents.
- Layer fiberglass and resin materials according to specifications to create durable products.
- Monitor curing processes to ensure proper hardening and finishing of fiberglass components.
- Inspect finished products for quality assurance and adherence to design specifications.
- Maintain a clean and safe workspace, following all health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize manufacturing processes.
- Document production processes and report any issues to supervisors promptly.
- Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment used in the lamination process.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in fiberglass fabrication is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Fiberglass Laminator or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of fiberglass materials, resins, and lamination techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and best practices in fiberglass handling.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical stamina and dexterity to perform manual labor and operate hand tools.
