Responsibilities
- Operate logging tractors and wheeled vehicles to fell trees and manage timber harvesting operations.
- Utilize accessories such as bulldozer blades, frontal shears, and grapple attachments for efficient tree removal.
- Skid, load, unload, and stack logs safely and effectively.
- Perform stump pulling and brush clearing to prepare sites for future logging activities.
- Safely operate stand-alone logging machines, including log chippers and cable winches.
- Conduct routine maintenance checks on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while operating machinery and working on-site.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and communication on logging projects.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant vocational training in forestry or heavy machinery operation preferred.
- Proven experience as a Feller Operator or in a similar role within the logging industry.
- Strong operating knowledge of heavy machinery, including logging tractors and wheeled vehicles.
- Familiarity with environmental regulations and sustainable logging practices.
- Ability to perform physical tasks and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) may be required depending on the specific role.
