Job Brief
As a Family Practice Physician Assistant, you will provide comprehensive healthcare services typically performed by a physician, under the supervision of a licensed physician. You will conduct complete physical examinations, diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses, counsel patients on health management, and may prescribe medications when appropriate. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care, effective communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team. Ideal candidates will have completed an accredited educational program for physician assistants and possess relevant clinical experience.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough physical examinations and patient assessments.
- Diagnose and manage a variety of medical conditions.
- Provide patient education and counseling on health promotion and disease prevention.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests and procedures.
- Prescribe medications and treatment plans as necessary.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.
- Document patient encounters accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
Requirements
- Master’s degree or higher from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- State licensure as a Physician Assistant.
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Knowledge of electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated on medical practices.
