Job Brief

The Expeditor plays a crucial role in coordinating and expediting the flow of work and materials within departments to ensure adherence to production schedules. This position requires effective communication with department supervisors to assess progress, completion dates, and inventory levels. The ideal candidate will have considerable experience in manufacturing or logistics environments and possess strong organizational and problem-solving skills to compile reports on production metrics, costs, and challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate workflow and materials between departments to align with production schedules.
  • Review and distribute production, work, and shipment schedules to relevant teams.
  • Communicate with department supervisors to monitor work progress and completion dates.
  • Compile and analyze reports on work progress, inventory levels, and production issues.
  • Identify and resolve production problems in a timely manner to minimize delays.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, costs, and project timelines.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
  • Support the planning and scheduling of resources to enhance productivity.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an Expeditor or in a similar logistical role within manufacturing or production.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain management and production processes.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with various teams.
  • Ability to analyze data and generate reports on production metrics and issues.
  • Problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to resolving challenges.
  • High school diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
