Job Brief
We are seeking an experienced Equipment, Supplies, and Tools Purchasing Agent to manage procurement processes for machinery, tools, and supplies essential for operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess strong negotiation skills, a keen understanding of inventory management, and the ability to analyze market trends. You will play a critical role in ensuring the timely acquisition of raw and semifinished materials necessary for manufacturing processes. A background in supply chain management and purchasing is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Analyze procurement needs and develop purchasing strategies for machinery, equipment, tools, and supplies.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure favorable terms and pricing.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of supplies and equipment, ensuring availability meets operational demands.
- Monitor market trends and supplier performance to optimize purchasing decisions.
- Collaborate with internal departments to determine purchasing requirements and specifications.
- Evaluate supplier proposals and conduct cost analyses to ensure budget compliance.
- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors to ensure high-quality service and product delivery.
- Prepare and manage purchase orders and procurement documentation.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Purchasing Agent or in a similar procurement role.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Knowledge of supply chain management principles and inventory control practices.
- Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Purchasing Professional) are a plus.
