As an Emergency Medical Services Driver, you will play a critical role in the timely and safe transportation of sick, injured, or convalescent individuals. Responsibilities

  • Drive and navigate emergency vehicles to transport patients to medical facilities.
  • Assist medical personnel in lifting, moving, and securing patients during transport.
  • Ensure the ambulance is well-stocked with necessary medical supplies and equipment.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of patient transport and any incidents that occur during transit.
  • Comply with traffic laws and safety regulations while operating the emergency vehicle.
  • Communicate effectively with emergency medical teams and dispatchers to coordinate patient care.
  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance of the ambulance to ensure optimal operational readiness.
  • Assist in training and mentoring new drivers, emphasizing safety and patient care protocols.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in emergency medical services preferred.
  • Valid state driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Certification in CPR and First Aid; EMT certification is a plus.
  • Proven experience as an ambulance driver or in a similar role within emergency services.
  • Strong knowledge of local streets, routes, and emergency response protocols.
  • Ability to remain calm and make quick decisions in high-stress situations.
  • Excellent communication skills and a commitment to teamwork.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to lift and carry heavy loads safely.
