Job Brief
The Electroplater is responsible for setting up, operating, and tending plating machines to coat metal or plastic products with various metals, such as chromium, zinc, copper, cadmium, and nickel. This role requires proficiency in working with molten metals and electrolytic solutions to enhance product durability and aesthetic quality. Ideal candidates will have experience in electroplating processes, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to maintain high-quality standards in a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Set up plating machines and equipment for electroplating operations.
- Operate electroplating machines to coat metals and plastics according to specifications.
- Monitor plating processes to ensure consistent quality and adherence to safety regulations.
- Adjust plating parameters such as voltage, temperature, and time based on product requirements.
- Inspect finished products for defects and ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Maintain and clean plating equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Document production data, including batch numbers and quality control metrics.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve processing methods and reduce waste.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in electroplating or related field preferred.
- Proven experience as an Electroplater or in a similar manufacturing role.
- Strong understanding of electroplating techniques and chemical processes.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and environmental regulations in manufacturing.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting.
