Responsibilities
- Conduct electrocardiograms (ECGs) to monitor heart activity and identify abnormalities.
- Assist in cardiac catheterizations and other diagnostic tests as directed by healthcare professionals.
- Perform pulmonary function tests to assess lung capacity and respiratory health.
- Prepare patients for tests, ensuring comfort and understanding of procedures.
- Maintain and calibrate electrocardiograph equipment to ensure accurate results.
- Document test results and communicate findings to physicians and medical staff.
- Adhere to safety and infection control protocols during all procedures.
- Participate in continuous education and training to stay current with industry developments.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in cardiovascular technology or related field preferred.
- Certification as an Electrocardiograph Technician (CET) or equivalent is highly desirable.
- Proven experience in performing ECGs and other cardiovascular tests.
- Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and common cardiovascular conditions.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare teams.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) and healthcare software applications.
