Job Brief
The Electrical Estimator is responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates for electrical systems and services in various construction projects and product manufacturing. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical design, pricing strategies, and construction methodologies. Ideal candidates will possess a combination of technical skills and experience in project estimation, enabling them to support management in competitive bidding and pricing decisions effectively.
Responsibilities
- Analyze project specifications, blueprints, and other documents to prepare accurate cost estimates for electrical installations and services.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and project managers to determine project requirements and scope.
- Evaluate labor, material, and overhead costs to create comprehensive bid proposals.
- Utilize industry-standard estimation software and tools to enhance accuracy and efficiency in cost calculations.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations outlining estimation findings for management review.
- Monitor project costs and budgets to ensure adherence to financial goals and project timelines.
- Stay updated on industry trends, pricing models, and technological advancements to provide competitive estimates.
- Assist in the negotiation of contracts and agreements with suppliers and subcontractors.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an electrical estimator or in a similar role within the construction or manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and standards.
- Proficiency in estimation software (e.g., Accubid, Bluebeam, or similar tools).
- Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Certification in estimating or relevant professional accreditation is a plus.
