Job Brief

The Electrical Estimator is responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates for electrical systems and services in various construction projects and product manufacturing. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical design, pricing strategies, and construction methodologies. Ideal candidates will possess a combination of technical skills and experience in project estimation, enabling them to support management in competitive bidding and pricing decisions effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze project specifications, blueprints, and other documents to prepare accurate cost estimates for electrical installations and services.
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and project managers to determine project requirements and scope.
  • Evaluate labor, material, and overhead costs to create comprehensive bid proposals.
  • Utilize industry-standard estimation software and tools to enhance accuracy and efficiency in cost calculations.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations outlining estimation findings for management review.
  • Monitor project costs and budgets to ensure adherence to financial goals and project timelines.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, pricing models, and technological advancements to provide competitive estimates.
  • Assist in the negotiation of contracts and agreements with suppliers and subcontractors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an electrical estimator or in a similar role within the construction or manufacturing industry.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and standards.
  • Proficiency in estimation software (e.g., Accubid, Bluebeam, or similar tools).
  • Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Certification in estimating or relevant professional accreditation is a plus.
