Job Brief
The Electric Meter Installer is responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of electric meters and related mechanical regulating devices. This role requires an individual with a strong technical background in electrical systems and mechanical devices. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience in troubleshooting and repairing electric meters, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and providing exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities
- Install electric meters and associated mechanical devices, ensuring accurate functionality and adherence to industry standards.
- Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on electric meters, gas regulators, and thermostats to ensure optimal performance.
- Perform inspections and tests on installed devices to ensure compliance with safety regulations and operational standards.
- Diagnose issues with electric meters and related systems, providing effective solutions to restore functionality.
- Document all installations, repairs, and maintenance activities accurately for record-keeping and compliance purposes.
- Collaborate with utility companies and other stakeholders to facilitate efficient service delivery and installation processes.
- Stay updated with the latest industry practices, technologies, and regulations related to electric meter installation and maintenance.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries and concerns regarding electric meter operations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in electrical or mechanical systems preferred.
- Proven experience as an electric meter installer or in a similar role within the utility industry.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, mechanical devices, and safety standards.
- Proficient in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electric meters and related devices.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to various job sites as required.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with clients and team members effectively.
