Responsibilities
- Perform echocardiographic examinations, including transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiograms.
- Prepare patients for procedures, ensuring comfort and understanding of the process.
- Utilize advanced ultrasound equipment to capture clear images of cardiac structures and blood flow.
- Analyze and interpret echocardiographic data, providing preliminary findings to the supervising physician.
- Maintain accurate records of procedures and patient information in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop patient management plans based on echocardiography results.
- Ensure the proper maintenance and calibration of echocardiography equipment.
- Stay current with advancements in echocardiography techniques and technologies through continuing education.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree or higher in diagnostic medical sonography or a related field.
- Certification as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or equivalent.
- Proven experience in performing echocardiograms in a clinical or hospital setting.
- Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
- Proficiency in operating echocardiography equipment and software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective patient interaction.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
