Job Brief
As a Dynamite Shooter, you will be responsible for placing and detonating explosives to effectively demolish structures or to loosen, remove, or displace earth, rock, or other materials. This role requires a high level of precision, adherence to safety protocols, and specialized knowledge in handling explosives. Ideal candidates will possess technical expertise in explosive materials and have a proven track record in construction or demolition environments.
Responsibilities
- Place and secure explosives according to engineering specifications and safety guidelines.
- Detonate explosives in a controlled manner to achieve desired demolition results.
- Conduct pre-blast surveys and risk assessments to ensure safe operations.
- Maintain accurate records of explosives usage, storage, and inventory management.
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers to develop blasting plans.
- Adhere to local, state, and federal regulations regarding explosive materials.
- Implement safety measures and emergency procedures to mitigate risks.
- Perform routine maintenance and inspection of blasting equipment and tools.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications in explosives handling preferred.
- Proven experience in demolition, construction, or mining environments.
- In-depth knowledge of explosive materials and detonation techniques.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and compliance standards.
- Ability to operate and maintain blasting equipment effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills for teamwork and collaboration.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to pass background checks related to explosives handling.
