Job Brief
As a Drywall Hanger, you will be responsible for applying plasterboard and other wallboard materials to ceilings and interior walls of various building projects. Your expertise will ensure the effective installation of acoustical tiles, blocks, and decorative materials that enhance both functionality and aesthetics. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of drywall installation techniques, have hands-on experience in the construction industry, and demonstrate proficiency in using essential tools and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Install plasterboard and drywall panels to ceilings and walls in residential and commercial buildings.
- Apply or mount acoustical tiles and sound-absorbing materials to enhance sound quality in interiors.
- Prepare surfaces by measuring, cutting, and securing wallboard materials accurately.
- Ensure a smooth finish by taping, mudding, and sanding joints and seams according to industry standards.
- Collaborate with construction teams to ensure timely project completion and adherence to specifications.
- Inspect completed work for quality and compliance with building codes and safety regulations.
- Maintain tools and equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Drywall Hanger or similar role in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of drywall installation, finishing, and repair techniques.
- Familiarity with tools and equipment used for drywall installation, including taping knives and drywall lifts.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings to execute installation plans accurately.
- Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy materials and work in various physical conditions.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Valid driver’s license may be required for transportation to job sites.
