Job Brief
The Driver’s License Examiner is responsible for examining, evaluating, and investigating the eligibility of applicants and their compliance with laws and regulations governing licenses and permits. Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations of applicant qualifications for obtaining driver’s licenses and permits.
- Perform inspections and assessments to ensure compliance with transportation laws and regulations.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in documentation and applicant information.
- Collaborate with law enforcement and regulatory agencies to enforce compliance standards.
- Maintain detailed records of examinations, inspections, and findings in accordance with legal requirements.
- Provide clear and accurate information to applicants regarding licensing procedures and requirements.
- Stay updated on changes in transportation laws and regulations to ensure accurate assessments.
- Prepare reports and documentation related to compliance and enforcement activities.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in law enforcement or regulatory compliance is a plus.
- Proven experience in a regulatory or inspection role, especially related to transportation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with applicants and agencies.
- Familiarity with state and federal transportation regulations and compliance standards.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information responsibly.
- Proficient in using computer systems and software for documentation and reporting purposes.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
