Job Brief
As a Dog Sitter, you will be responsible for the attentive care and well-being of dogs and other companion animals. This role requires a passion for animal welfare, experience in pet care, and the ability to manage various tasks such as feeding, exercising, and grooming. Responsibilities
- Provide daily feeding, watering, and grooming services to dogs and other pets.
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by pet owners.
- Exercise pets through walks, playtime, and other physical activities to promote health and well-being.
- Maintain cleanliness by regularly cleaning and disinfecting cages, pens, or pet areas.
- Monitor the health and behavior of pets, reporting any concerns to pet owners promptly.
- Keep accurate records of pet care activities, including feedings and medical treatments.
- Build trusting relationships with pets, ensuring a positive and stress-free experience.
- Provide basic training and socialization for dogs as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in pet care or animal behavior preferred.
- Proven experience as a pet sitter or in a similar role with dogs and other companion animals.
- Strong knowledge of dog breeds, behaviors, and care requirements.
- Ability to recognize signs of illness or distress in animals.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with pet owners and understanding their needs.
- Physical stamina to handle pets of various sizes and energy levels.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel to and from pet care locations.
- Certification in pet first aid and CPR is a plus.
