Job Brief
As a Day Care Worker, you will provide a safe and nurturing environment for children in schools, private households, and childcare institutions. Your primary responsibilities will include attending to children’s daily needs such as dressing, feeding, bathing, and overseeing play activities. The ideal candidate will have experience in childcare, strong interpersonal skills, and a passion for fostering a positive developmental atmosphere.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and engage children in age-appropriate activities to promote social, emotional, and physical development.
- Assist children with daily grooming and hygiene tasks, including dressing, feeding, and bathing.
- Plan and implement educational and recreational activities that cater to individual needs.
- Monitor children’s behavior and provide guidance to encourage positive interactions.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by following health and safety guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children’s progress and any concerns.
- Document daily activities and maintain accurate records of children’s development and behavior.
- Respond promptly to children’s needs and emergencies with care and compassion.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications in early childhood education or childcare preferred.
- Previous experience working with children in a daycare or educational setting.
- Strong understanding of child development principles and age-specific needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with children and parents.
- Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and professionally.
- Flexible schedule, including availability for evenings or weekends as needed.
- First Aid and CPR certification preferred.
