Job Brief

As a Crossing Guard, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety of pedestrians and drivers at critical traffic locations such as school zones, railroad crossings, and construction sites. Responsibilities

  • Guide and control vehicular and pedestrian traffic at designated crossings to ensure safe passage.
  • Monitor traffic patterns and adjust control measures as necessary to maintain safety.
  • Communicate effectively with children, parents, and drivers to enforce traffic laws and safety protocols.
  • Report any hazardous conditions, accidents, or violations to local authorities.
  • Maintain a high level of visibility and awareness at all times during active duty.
  • Assist in educating the public, especially children, about safe crossing practices.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement and school officials to address traffic safety concerns.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in traffic management is a plus.
  • Proven experience in a traffic control or public safety role is preferred.
  • Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to convey instructions clearly.
  • Ability to manage stressful situations calmly and effectively.
  • Knowledge of local traffic laws and safety regulations.
  • Must be physically fit to stand for extended periods and perform occasional manual tasks.
  • Current certification in first aid and CPR is advantageous.
