Job Brief
As a Crop Picker, you will be responsible for the manual planting, cultivation, and harvesting of various agricultural products, including vegetables, fruits, and field crops. This role requires hands-on experience with various hand tools and the ability to perform tasks such as tilling, transplanting, and applying fertilizers or pesticides. Responsibilities
- Manually plant, cultivate, and harvest a variety of crops including fruits, vegetables, and nuts.
- Utilize hand tools such as shovels, trowels, hoes, and pruning shears for effective crop management.
- Till soil, apply fertilizers, and ensure optimal growing conditions for crops.
- Transplant, weed, thin, and prune crops to promote healthy growth.
- Apply pesticides and herbicides safely and according to agricultural regulations.
- Clean, grade, sort, pack, and load harvested products for distribution.
- Construct trellises and assist in repairing farm infrastructure as needed.
- Participate in irrigation activities to maintain crop health and productivity.
Requirements
- Previous experience in agriculture or farming, preferably in a crop picker role.
- Familiarity with hand tools and agricultural equipment.
- Knowledge of crop management practices and pest control methods.
- Strong physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor for extended periods.
- Attention to detail to ensure quality harvesting and maintenance of crops.
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions and adapt to changing work environments.
- Possession of valid agricultural certifications is a plus.
