As a Court Security Officer, you will play a critical role in maintaining order and safety within courts of law. Responsibilities

  • Monitor courtrooms and surrounding areas to ensure the safety and security of all individuals present.
  • Implement and enforce security protocols, including screening individuals and belongings entering the courthouse.
  • Conduct regular patrols of court facilities to deter and detect unauthorized activity.
  • Assist judges, attorneys, and court personnel in maintaining order during hearings and trials.
  • Respond promptly to emergencies, including medical incidents, disturbances, or breaches of security.
  • Document incidents and prepare detailed reports for law enforcement and court officials.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement agencies and other security personnel as necessary.
  • Provide information and assistance to the public regarding court procedures and security protocols.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in criminal justice or security management is preferred.
  • Proven experience in security, law enforcement, or military service is highly desirable.
  • Strong observational and communication skills to effectively manage courtroom dynamics.
  • Ability to remain calm and make quick decisions in high-pressure situations.
  • Familiarity with security equipment and technology, including surveillance systems.
  • Certification in first aid, CPR, and emergency response is a plus.
  • Must possess a valid security guard or law enforcement license as required by jurisdiction.
