Job Brief
As a Control Tower Operator, you will be responsible for managing air traffic on and within the vicinity of the airport, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of aircraft between altitude sectors and control centers. Your primary duties will include authorizing and regulating commercial airline flights in compliance with government regulations and company policies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in aviation operations, excellent communication skills, and the ability to make quick, informed decisions in high-pressure situations.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and control air traffic in assigned sectors to ensure safe and efficient operations.
- Authorize takeoffs and landings in coordination with pilots and airport personnel.
- Provide timely instructions and information to pilots regarding flight paths and weather conditions.
- Manage the flow of air traffic between altitude sectors and other control centers.
- Utilize radar and communication systems to track aircraft movements and prevent collisions.
- Ensure compliance with all aviation safety regulations and standard operating procedures.
- Respond to emergency situations by implementing established protocols and coordinating with relevant authorities.
- Maintain accurate records of air traffic operations and incidents as required by regulatory bodies.
Requirements
- Valid Air Traffic Control (ATC) certification and relevant licenses.
- Proven experience in air traffic control or related aviation roles.
- Strong understanding of aviation regulations and safety standards.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in using radar and air traffic control software systems.
- Ability to work in high-pressure environments and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Willingness to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with pilots and airport staff.
