Job Brief
As a Contact Lens Technician, you will play a crucial role in the optical industry by expertly cutting, grinding, and polishing contact lenses and other precision optical elements. This position requires technical proficiency in operating precision lens polishers, grinders, and centerer-edgers. Responsibilities
- Cut, grind, and polish contact lenses and eyeglasses to exact specifications.
- Assemble and mount lenses into frames and process optical elements with precision.
- Operate and maintain lens polishing and grinding equipment, ensuring optimal performance.
- Inspect finished lenses for quality assurance and compliance with industry standards.
- Collaborate with opticians and other professionals to fulfill customer requirements.
- Keep accurate records of production and inventory of optical materials.
- Stay updated on the latest optical technologies and techniques to enhance workflow efficiency.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in optical technology is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Contact Lens Technician or in a similar optical role.
- Strong technical skills in operating optical machinery, including grinders and polishers.
- Detail-oriented with excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and quality control processes in an optical environment.
