Job Brief
The Construction Millwright is responsible for installing, dismantling, and relocating machinery and heavy equipment in accordance with layout plans, blueprints, and specifications. This role requires a skilled professional with a strong background in mechanical systems, troubleshooting, and maintenance. The ideal candidate will possess excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Install machinery and heavy equipment according to detailed layout plans and blueprints.
- Dismantle and relocate existing equipment while ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal performance.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues, providing timely repairs and solutions.
- Collaborate with engineering and project management teams to ensure project milestones are met.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
- Document installation processes, repairs, and maintenance activities for future reference.
- Train and mentor junior millwrights and apprentices in proper installation techniques and safety standards.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or apprenticeship in millwrighting preferred.
- Proven experience as a millwright or in a similar role within the construction or manufacturing industry.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills with a thorough understanding of machinery.
- Familiarity with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents.
- Proficient in the use of hand and power tools relevant to the millwright trade.
- Strong physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy equipment and materials.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to various job sites as required.
