Job Brief
The Construction Ironworker Helper plays a vital role in supporting ironworkers and ensuring that projects are completed safely and efficiently. This entry-level position involves assisting in the installation, maintenance, and repair of structural iron and steel components in various construction settings. Ideal candidates should possess strong physical stamina, teamwork skills, and a willingness to learn. Prior experience in construction or related trades is preferred but not mandatory.
Responsibilities
- Assist ironworkers in the installation and positioning of steel beams and reinforcements.
- Help maintain a clean and organized job site by removing debris and materials.
- Transport tools and equipment to and from job sites, ensuring proper handling and safety.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to minimize risks and accidents on site.
- Learn and apply basic skills in welding, rigging, and metalwork under supervision.
- Support the team by performing tasks as needed, demonstrating flexibility and initiative.
- Participate in training sessions and safety meetings to enhance knowledge and skills.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Basic understanding of construction safety practices and procedures.
- Ability to lift heavy materials and work in physically demanding conditions.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Willingness to learn and take instructions from experienced ironworkers.
- Valid driver’s license may be required based on job site location.
- Previous experience in construction or related trades is a plus.
