As a Clothing Patternmaker, you will play a crucial role in the fashion design process by creating precise master fabric patterns and layouts for various garments. Responsibilities
- Draw and construct sets of precision master fabric patterns for apparel and accessories.
- Interpret design sketches and technical specifications to create accurate patterns.
- Mark and cut fabrics according to the prepared patterns and specifications.
- Collaborate with designers and production teams to ensure quality and adherence to design intent.
- Review and revise patterns based on fitting sessions and feedback.
- Maintain and organize pattern documentation and archives for future reference.
- Utilize patternmaking software and tools to enhance productivity and accuracy.
- Stay updated on industry trends, techniques, and materials to improve patternmaking processes.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Clothing Patternmaker or similar role in the fashion industry.
- Strong proficiency in patternmaking software such as Gerber, Optitex, or similar tools.
- Solid understanding of garment construction, fitting techniques, and fabric types.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a keen eye for precision.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and effectively communicate ideas.
- Degree or certification in Fashion Design, Patternmaking, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience with draping and flat pattern techniques is an advantage.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
