Job Brief
As a Circle Saw Operator, you will set up, operate, and maintain wood sawing machines to produce high-quality lumber products. This role requires proficiency in traditional sawing techniques as well as experience with computer numerically controlled (CNC) equipment. Responsibilities
- Set up and calibrate circle saw machines for optimal performance and precision cutting.
- Operate wood sawing machines to cut various types of lumber according to specifications.
- Monitor machine operations to ensure quality control and adherence to production standards.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on saw machinery to minimize downtime.
- Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and production schedules to meet operational goals.
- Adhere to safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe working environment.
- Train and guide junior operators on best practices and machine operation techniques.
- Assist in inventory management and ensure proper handling of materials.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in machinery operation is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Circle Saw Operator or in a similar role within the woodworking industry.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with woodworking machinery, including CNC equipment.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations related to machine operation.
- Ability to read technical documents, including blueprints and schematics.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail in a manufacturing setting.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy materials and work in various conditions.
