Job Brief

As a Chrome Plater, you will set up, operate, and tend to plating machines to coat metal or plastic products with chromium, zinc, copper, cadmium, nickel, and other metals. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure high-quality surface protection and decoration of components by immersing products in molten metal or electrolytic solutions. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in plating operations, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate plating machines for chromium and other metal coatings.
  • Prepare and maintain electrolytic solutions and metal baths.
  • Monitor the plating process to ensure adherence to specifications.
  • Inspect finished products for quality and surface integrity.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on plating equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of production and material usage.
  • Follow all safety and environmental regulations during operations.
  • Train and guide junior staff on plating techniques and equipment operation.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in plating preferred.
  • Proven experience in chrome plating or relevant metal finishing processes.
  • Strong knowledge of plating chemicals, equipment, and safety procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and specifications.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical stamina to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods.
  • Certification in hazardous materials handling is a plus.
