Job Brief
The Chief Ship Steward is responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of passenger attendants to ensure exceptional service and hospitality aboard the vessel. This leadership role demands a minimum of 5 years of experience in the hospitality or cruise industry, along with excellent management and communication skills. The ideal candidate possesses a strong ability to enhance passenger experience, manage staff effectively, and maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety throughout the ship.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and direct passenger attendants to ensure efficient service delivery and passenger satisfaction.
- Develop and implement training programs for staff to enhance service quality and operational efficiency.
- Monitor and evaluate staff performance, providing constructive feedback and support for professional development.
- Coordinate the daily activities of the hospitality team, ensuring adherence to safety and sanitation standards.
- Address passenger inquiries and complaints promptly to maintain a high level of customer service.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations and enhance the overall guest experience.
- Assist in the planning and execution of special events and activities for passengers.
- Maintain inventory and supplies for service areas, ensuring all resources are adequately stocked.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a supervisory role within the hospitality or cruise industry.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire staff.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of safety and sanitation regulations relevant to the hospitality industry.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle difficult situations calmly.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and familiar with industry-specific software.
- Certification in hospitality management or a related field is preferred.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required.
