Job Brief
The Early Head Start Director is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating comprehensive early childhood education programs for infants, toddlers, and their families. This role requires a strong background in early childhood education, management, and community engagement. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement curriculum and program activities that promote the cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
- Oversee the recruitment, hiring, training, and evaluation of staff to ensure high-quality education and care.
- Monitor and assess program effectiveness to ensure alignment with best practices and regulatory standards.
- Establish partnerships with local agencies and community organizations to enhance family services and support.
- Manage program budgets and resources efficiently to ensure sustainability and compliance with funding requirements.
- Provide leadership and supervision to staff, fostering a collaborative and inclusive workplace culture.
- Facilitate regular communication with families regarding their child’s development and program offerings.
- Stay updated on current research and trends in early childhood education and implement relevant changes to improve program quality.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field preferred; Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in early childhood education, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.
- Strong knowledge of Head Start and Early Head Start regulations and best practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to develop and implement effective educational programs and curricula.
- Proficiency in budget management and resource allocation.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification is a plus.
- Passion for working with children and families, with a commitment to diversity and inclusion.
