Job Brief
The Certified Medical Dosimetrist is responsible for generating comprehensive radiation treatment plans and performing precise radiation dose calculations. Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize individualized radiation treatment plans based on patient-specific clinical data.
- Calculate and verify radiation doses, ensuring adherence to prescribed treatment parameters.
- Collaborate with radiation oncologists, medical physicists, and radiation therapists to refine treatment strategies.
- Supervise and monitor the implementation of treatment plans, adjusting as necessary to optimize patient outcomes.
- Utilize advanced treatment planning software to create accurate dosimetric calculations.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records of treatment plans and patient interactions.
- Stay current with evolving technologies and methodologies in medical dosimetry and radiation oncology.
- Participate in quality assurance activities to ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices.
Requirements
- Certification as a Medical Dosimetrist (CMD) from the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board (MDCB).
- A bachelor’s degree in radiation therapy, medical dosimetry, or a related field.
- Proficiency in radiation treatment planning software and related technologies.
- Strong understanding of anatomy, radiobiology, and radiation physics.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective teamwork.
- Ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions quickly.
- Prior experience in a clinical setting, preferably in radiation oncology.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and education in the field of medical dosimetry.
