Job Brief
As a Certified Athletic Trainer, you will play a crucial role in evaluating and treating musculoskeletal injuries and illnesses for athletes and active individuals. Your expertise will include providing preventive, therapeutic, emergency, and rehabilitative care to enhance performance and ensure the well-being of clients. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a comprehensive understanding of athletic injuries, and the ability to implement effective treatment plans. A Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training or a related field, along with state licensure and national certification, is required.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and assess athletes’ injuries or illnesses to determine appropriate treatment plans.
- Provide first aid and emergency care for athletic injuries and medical emergencies.
- Develop and implement rehabilitation programs tailored to individual athletes’ needs.
- Conduct preventive injury programs to enhance athletic performance and reduce risk.
- Collaborate with coaches, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
- Maintain accurate records of injuries, treatments, and rehabilitation progress.
- Educate athletes and clients on injury prevention, wellness, and nutrition.
- Stay informed on the latest advances in sports medicine and athletic training practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Current certification from the Board of Certification (BOC) for Athletic Trainers.
- State licensure or certification, as required by applicable regulations.
- Strong knowledge of musculoskeletal anatomy, injury assessment, and rehabilitation techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
- Ability to work in high-pressure environments and handle emergency situations.
- Proficient in documentation and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations.
- CPR and First Aid certification is highly desirable.
