Job Brief
As a Carpet Layer, you will be responsible for laying and installing carpet from rolls or blocks on various types of flooring surfaces. Responsibilities
- Measure and cut carpet and padding materials to fit designated areas accurately.
- Install carpet from rolls or blocks, ensuring proper alignment and securing with adhesives or staples.
- Prepare subfloor surfaces by cleaning, leveling, and applying appropriate underlayment.
- Trim and finish flooring materials, ensuring a neat and professional appearance.
- Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and preferences.
- Inspect finished installations for quality assurance and make necessary adjustments.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while working on job sites.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Carpet Layer or similar role in the flooring industry.
- Strong knowledge of various carpet types, installation techniques, and tools.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and physical stamina to perform manual labor.
- Familiarity with safety standards and practices in flooring installation.
- Certification in flooring installation or related training is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills to liaise with clients and team members.
