Job Brief
The Carpenter Supervisor oversees and directs the activities of construction workers specializing in carpentry and related tasks. Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of carpentry teams to ensure project goals are met.
- Develop and implement project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and budgets.
- Inspect completed work to guarantee compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
- Train and mentor carpentry staff, promoting skill development and adherence to best practices.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure project specifications are met.
- Maintain accurate records of project progress, staff performance, and material usage.
- Resolve conflicts and address issues that arise on-site to maintain a productive work environment.
- Enforce safety protocols and conduct regular safety meetings to minimize workplace hazards.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a carpenter, with a minimum of 5 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, tools, and materials.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in construction.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA, NCCER) are a plus.
