Job Brief
The Cardiovascular Interventional Technologist plays a crucial role in the healthcare sector by conducting tests and procedures on patients’ pulmonary and cardiovascular systems for diagnostic, therapeutic, or research purposes. This position requires a strong understanding of cardiovascular technology, proficiency in performing electrocardiograms, cardiac catheterizations, and pulmonary function tests. Responsibilities
- Conduct diagnostic tests on patients’ cardiovascular and pulmonary systems, including electrocardiograms and cardiac catheterizations.
- Assist physicians in interventional procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the process.
- Prepare and maintain medical equipment and supplies for cardiovascular and pulmonary testing.
- Monitor and record patient vital signs during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
- Analyze test results and provide accurate documentation for patient records.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop patient care plans based on test findings.
- Educate patients and their families on procedures, risks, and post-test care.
- Stay updated on advancements in cardiovascular technology and best practices in patient care.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree or higher in Cardiovascular Technology or a related field.
- Certification as a Cardiovascular Technologist (e.g., through ARRT or CCI) preferred.
- Proven experience in performing cardiovascular and pulmonary diagnostic tests.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology related to cardiovascular care.
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced medical environment.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Current CPR certification and knowledge of emergency procedures.
