Job Brief
As a Cardiac Catheterization Technologist, you will play a vital role in the diagnostic evaluation and therapeutic management of patients with cardiovascular and pulmonary conditions. Your primary responsibilities will involve conducting advanced tests such as cardiac catheterizations, electrocardiograms, and pulmonary function assessments. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to patient care, along with relevant experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
Responsibilities
- Conduct cardiac catheterizations and assist in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
- Prepare and maintain equipment for cardiovascular and pulmonary tests.
- Perform electrocardiograms (ECGs) and analyze results for clinical interpretation.
- Monitor and document patient vital signs during procedures to ensure safety.
- Collaborate with physicians and nursing staff to develop patient care plans.
- Educate patients on procedures and provide emotional support as needed.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Cardiovascular Technology or related field.
- Current certification as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or equivalent.
- Proficient in performing cardiac and pulmonary diagnostic tests.
- Strong knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient interaction.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications preferred.
- Prior experience in a cath lab or similar healthcare setting is advantageous.
