Job Brief

Certified Nursing Assistants (C.N.A.) provide essential support and care to patients under the supervision of licensed nursing staff in various healthcare settings. This role involves monitoring patient health, assisting with daily living activities, and ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for patients. Successful C.N.A.s possess strong communication skills, compassion, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented atmosphere. Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred, along with relevant certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming to promote personal hygiene.
  • Monitor and record vital signs and report any changes in patient condition to nursing staff.
  • Support patients with mobility and ambulation to enhance their physical independence.
  • Provide timely assistance with feeding and toileting needs to ensure patient comfort and dignity.
  • Administer medications as prescribed under the supervision of licensed nursing staff.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment in accordance with health and safety standards.
  • Engage with patients to provide emotional support and companionship, fostering a positive care experience.
  • Document patient care activities and communicate effectively with the healthcare team.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a state-approved nursing assistant training program.
  • Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A.) in accordance with state regulations.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Compassionate and patient-focused mindset with a dedication to providing quality care.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare or nursing facility preferred.
