The Bridge Crane Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of mechanical boom and cable or tower and cable equipment to lift and maneuver materials, machines, or products across various directions within industrial settings. Candidates should possess relevant certifications and a strong focus on safety and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Operate bridge cranes safely and effectively to lift, move, and place materials and products.
  • Inspect equipment before use to ensure optimal functionality and safety compliance.
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures to minimize risk and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Collaborate with team members to coordinate lifting operations and ensure proper load placement.
  • Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on cranes and related equipment.
  • Document operational details and report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns.
  • Read and interpret signals and blueprints to execute precise lifting operations.
  • Maintain clear communication with ground personnel and other operators during lifting activities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; relevant vocational training preferred.
  • Valid crane operator certification (e.g., NCCCO, CIC) required.
  • Proven experience operating bridge cranes in industrial or construction environments.
  • Strong understanding of load dynamics and weight distribution principles.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions and at heights as required.
  • Strong commitment to safety and adherence to OSHA regulations.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
