Job Brief
As a Brewery Pumper, you will be responsible for tending, controlling, and operating power-driven, stationary, or portable pumps and manifold systems to efficiently transfer gases, oils, liquids, slurries, and powdered materials within brewery processes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of pumping systems, fluid dynamics, and safety protocols, ensuring seamless operations in a fast-paced brewery environment. Previous experience in a manufacturing or brewing setting, along with technical skills in pump operation, is essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain power-driven pumps and manifold systems to transfer various materials between vessels.
- Monitor pump performance and make adjustments to optimize flow rates and pressure levels.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on pumping equipment to ensure reliability and safety.
- Collaborate with production teams to coordinate the timely transfer of materials during brewing processes.
- Maintain accurate records of pump operations, maintenance activities, and material transfers.
- Adhere to safety regulations and industry standards to minimize risks associated with pumping operations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues with pumps and associated systems promptly.
- Assist in training new team members on pumping procedures and best practices.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in fluid dynamics or related field is preferred.
- Proven experience operating pumps and manifolds in a brewery or manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and regulations in the brewing industry.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Excellent communication skills and teamwork orientation.
- Basic computer skills for record-keeping and reporting purposes.
