Job Brief
The Boat Rental Clerk is responsible for providing exceptional customer service in a dynamic marina environment. This role involves receiving rental orders, processing payments, and coordinating boat services including repairs. Responsibilities
- Receive and process rental orders and repair requests from customers in person.
- Provide detailed information about available rental boats and services.
- Compute rental costs and accept payments using point-of-sale systems.
- Maintain accurate records of rentals and repairs for inventory management.
- Assist customers with inquiries and troubleshoot issues related to rentals.
- Ensure all rental equipment is properly maintained and ready for customer use.
- Promote additional services and upsell equipment to enhance customer experience.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize operational efficiency and service delivery.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in hospitality or business preferred.
- Previous experience in customer service or a retail environment, preferably in the boating industry.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with customers.
- Basic math skills for calculating rental costs and processing transactions.
- Familiarity with point-of-sale systems and inventory management software.
- Knowledge of boating safety regulations and equipment maintenance is a plus.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
- Valid driver’s license; boating license may be required based on local regulations.
