Responsibilities
- Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on a variety of biomedical equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Test and calibrate equipment to verify performance and accuracy, utilizing specialized diagnostic tools.
- Diagnose malfunctions in medical devices and implement effective repair strategies.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment service and repairs, adhering to regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to assess equipment needs and provide technical support.
- Assist in the installation and configuration of new medical equipment, ensuring proper functionality.
- Stay current with advancements in biomedical technology and industry regulations.
- Provide training and support to clinical staff on the safe operation of medical devices.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in Biomedical Engineering Technology or a related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Certification from a recognized body, such as the Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET).
- Proven experience in the maintenance and repair of biomedical equipment in a clinical setting.
- Strong technical skills in electronics, mechanics, and computer systems.
- Familiarity with regulatory standards, including FDA and ISO compliance.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
- Effective communication skills to interact with medical staff and provide training.
- Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development and training.
