Responsibilities

  • Diagnose malfunctions in medical devices and implement effective repair strategies.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment service and repairs, adhering to regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to assess equipment needs and provide technical support.
  • Assist in the installation and configuration of new medical equipment, ensuring proper functionality.
  • Stay current with advancements in biomedical technology and industry regulations.
  • Provide training and support to clinical staff on the safe operation of medical devices.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Biomedical Engineering Technology or a related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Certification from a recognized body, such as the Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET).
  • Proven experience in the maintenance and repair of biomedical equipment in a clinical setting.
  • Strong technical skills in electronics, mechanics, and computer systems.
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards, including FDA and ISO compliance.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with medical staff and provide training.
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development and training.
