Job Brief
The Bindery Folder Operator is responsible for efficiently binding books and other printed products using both manual and machine processes. This role requires expertise in setting up, operating, and troubleshooting various binding and finishing machines. Responsibilities
- Operate and set up binding and finishing machines to ensure quality production of printed materials.
- Fold, stitch, and bind printed products according to job specifications and quality standards.
- Inspect finished products for accuracy and adherence to specifications.
- Troubleshoot machine issues and perform routine maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production schedules and deadlines.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency.
- Document production metrics and report any discrepancies to management.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in print production is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Bindery Operator or similar role in the printing industry.
- Strong mechanical skills with the ability to operate and troubleshoot binding machines.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality finished products.
- Ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods.
- Basic computer skills for entering production data and job specifications.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
